It is with much sadness that after this past Sunday’s Mother’s Day event, we must announce that due to low turnout in both racer and spectator counts as well as support for our series in general, we can no longer continue to operate our events at the Kilkare Dragway facility. Our series has been struggling in the Dayton/Cincinnati area for some time now. We’ve made many improvements to our program in the hopes that it would entice more people to our series, without luck. Even though we were not able to make the April track rental payment so that we could pay our employees and racers, Kilkare graciously agreed to allow us to try and make up the balance due by letting us put on the May event with the hopes the turnout would be better, thus bringing in enough to cover both track rental fees so that we could continue our program on a race by race basis. Unfortunately, this did not happen and we are now forced to take a step back with our program until we can pay the track our outstanding balance owed. We cannot stress enough that NO other track would have even considered that as an option and we hope that our business decision does not affect anyone’s decision to continue to race at Kilkare. If anything, the kindness that they have shown us should firm up each of your beliefs in that they are an excellent facility to attend and work with. We cannot thank the entire staff and the owners of Kilkare Dragway enough for all of their patience and understanding. They have supported our series since June of 2009 and were very much hoping we could continue racing next month. We have talked with Kilkare about plans to run a few classes on Saturday with them, and we may do so once our balance is paid. We will make another announcement in regard to that decision should we choose to go that route. So to sum things up, our remaining events at Kilkare are now on hold. The sooner we can pay them the sooner we can renegotiate our series involvement with Kilkare. Thank you to everyone who has and does support our series, no matter where we are or have been. We’ve met so many great people in our 5 years of operation and we hope that when we are able to “get back on track” we’ll be able to provide you with a place to race and see you again. Any future plans, whether it be at Kilkare and or other facilities, will be posted here on our website. Good luck to everyone and we hope to be back soon!
